Post AGM Followups

Dear Members

What follows is an update on some of the correspondence we’ve had with our public representatives and Dublin City Council on topics of interest to you at our AGM on March 30th 2022.

Griffith Avenue Cycleway
In January, Dublin City Council published their ‘Workshop Report’ on the Griffith Avenue Cycleway which we have attached here for your benefit. It summarises some potential options for the more permanent structures they intent to put in place having engaged with us and local residents on the topic taking into consideration out input in the Griffith Avenue Mobility Measures Workshop held in November last year. We await the outcome of these considerations and the final design and implementation plan. A followup email from Alec Dundon - Active Mobility Unit of Environment & Transport Unit of Dublin City Council which is attached here provides more context and status on this as well as addressing some of the community engagement and education program plans around use of this new cycling infrastructure.

Questions and Answers from DCC on a range of topics
We attached several questions put to DCC by Councillor Deirdre Heney on our behalf, addressing a range of matters related to tree replacement program, roadworks on Griffith Avenue, road and pavement improvements on Upper Drumcondra Road and Bus Connects. We thank Deirdre and all our public representatives for bringing these matters to the councils attention and seeking their response in each case.

Development plan letter to our Councillors
Following on from the AHAA submission to the Draft Dublin Development Plan 2022-2028 we sent a summarised communication to all our public representatives on our submission, seeking their support for the topics that interest our community. We attach that communication here for your information.
