Plans for School Zone Drumcondra National School
Re; Dublin City Council proposals to implement Front of School Works to improve safety on accessing and exiting Drumcondra School.
Dublin City
Council (DCC) has leafletted residents on Church Avenue and surrounding roads about
the proposal for the new school zone at Drumcondra National School, Church
Avenue. See https://consultation.dublincity.ie/traffic-and-transport/drumcondra-national-school/
Some residents have been in contact with their local AHAA representative to say they are unhappy with the proposals. Residents are supportive of measures to improve safety for children and vulnerable pedestrians around the school. Some of the proposals, however, will cause practical difficulties for local residents in accessing their homes (from 08.00 to 09.00 and from 13.00 to 14.30 Monday to Friday) and in restricting essential parking on this congested road.
AHAA encourages any resident with concerns about the plan to share their comments with DCC.
- Email: sustainablemobility@dublincity.ie (with Drumcondra National School in the subject bar).
- Phone: Customer Services Desk 2222222 and ask to be referred to an available member of the school mobility Team.
- Post: School Mobility Programme, City Centre Transport Projects, Block 2, Floor7, Civic Offices, Wood Quay, Dublin 8, Ireland D08 RF3F.
DCC has confirmed that the deadline for submissions has been extended until Midnight on Friday 26th of May 2023.
Residents, if they wish, may copy their comments to allhallowsresidents@gmail.com
AHAA is making a submission in support of residents' concerns and seeking a meeting for residents with the Sustainable Mobility Team to discuss the proposals.
