Griffith Avenue Cycleway - Update (May 2021)
The Chief
Executive Officer of Dublin City Council (DCC), Mr. Owen P Keegan has replied
to AHAA’s letter dated 30 April 2021 in which we asked for a public meeting
about our residents’ concerns with the Griffith
Avenue Cycleway.
Please see the reply of 7th May 2021 here.
AHAA was
invited to an online information meeting organised by DCC on Friday 7th May. DCC
arranged the meeting for a small number of local groups and for local
councillors. The meeting was chaired by Mr Derek Farrell,
Local Area Manager. There was a detailed
presentation about the cycleway and a question-and-answer session.
AHAA explained the issues that residents had raised at our recent AGM and asked if DCC would organise a wider meeting which would be open to all interested parties. In response, DCC officials detailed the consultation arrangements in place via their website.
They explained
how questions and observations from residents are being answered via the
consultation hub and directly in some cases and how it is not proposed to
organise a public meeting in the present circumstances. AHAA was advised that
residents should submit their questions or any observations they have about the
cycleway to covidmobility.
If you have views about the cycleway or concerns about it and you haven’t already done so, we encourage you to make a submission to DCC.
You can
make your submission:
- By email to covidmobility@dublincity.ie (with Griffith Avenue in the subject bar)
- By post to: Covid Mobility Team, Block 2, Floor 7, Civic Offices, Wood Quay, Dublin 8, Ireland D08RF3F
- You can copy your submission to derek.farrell@dublincity.ie Mr Farrell has assured AHAA that all submissions made by residents will receive a reply.
The consultation remains open until 30 June 2021.
