Dublin City Council leaves collection arrangements for Griffith Avenue

The big Autumn leaves clear-up has already started on Griffith Avenue. Residents have started clearing the paths outside their homes and raking and bagging leaves for collection by Dublin City Council.

Dublin City Council (DCC) has provided a supply of compostable bags and some equipment such as rakes and leaf grabbers as well as HV Jackets and gloves to AHAA for residents’ use. Residents can order compostable bags by emailing allhallowsresidents@gmail.com, by phoning or texting 0851448527 or by contacting any of the AHAA Committee members.  All leaves collected and bagged in the official bags will go for composting.

The Council has advised us that road sweeper will regularly clear the leaves from the road edges and cycleway over the coming weeks with additional sweeping from the smaller cycleway sweeper and for the footpaths.

As in previous years   AHAA will ask residents and volunteers to come out for a final clear up of the paths and public spaces in mid-November. All are welcome to help with the task. The Council will dedicate extra resources to the work and to collecting the filled bags promptly. We anticipate that the week, Saturday 11th November 2023 to Saturday 18th of November 2023, will be the focus of our community effort. We will publish further details as soon as we have confirmation that these dates will suit the Council’s work schedule.

Safety First
Be safe. Stay on the footpath.  Use a rake or brush and wear gloves.
